"Pocahontas Saving The Life Of Capt. John Smith"

Description: "While exploring in December 1607, Captain John Smith was attacked and captured by Indians. He was taken before the Indian King, Powhatan, who condemned him to death. As he lay bound upon the ground, with the clubs uplifted to beat out his brains, Pocahontas, the favorite daughter of Powhatan, threw herself upon him, and besought her father to spare his life, which he finally agreed to do."
