Description: "Old Point Comfort Virginia. The early colonists came ashore here, April 30, 1607, on their voyage to Jamestown. The Kiquotan Indians gave a great feast and dance in their honor. Hampton occupies the site of an Indian village and is the oldest English settlement in America. Fortress Monroe named for President Monroe, was built in 1834."
