Description: "The Hampton Institute Memorial Church, erected in 1886, was a gift to the college from the Frederick D. Marquand Estate. The clock tower, visible throughout the peninsula area, houses a nine-bell carillon which has been played since 1887. Hampton Institute is located on national highway 60 and Virginia highway 167."
