New community hotel erected by popular stock subscription, occupying a 60-acre tract which includes an 18-hole golf course. The architecture and landscaping typify the traditional Colonial plantation atmosphere of Virginia. Here the salt tang of the sea is mingled with the aromatic redolence of pines."
